October 16 marks an important date for our territory: the "Rural District of Monte Pisano and the Piana di Pisa" was officially born. This new entity, the result of the collaboration between the Municipalities of Pisa, Calci, San Giuliano Terme, Vecchiano and Vicopisano, as well as the Northwest Tuscan Chamber of Commerce and the Ente Miglia Parcorino San Rossore Massaciuccoli, unites the main local business associations in the agriculture, craft, commerce and tourism sectors.

A Project of Valorization and Sustainability

The District was born with an ambitious mission: to promote sustainable development, preserve the environment and encourage the excellence of our territory, from local agricultural productions to slow and naturalistic tourism. As the mayor of Pisa Michele Conti pointed out during the signing, "this agreement not only enhances the natural and cultural resources of the territory, but also responds to the urgency of protecting our lands and preventing hydrogeological degradation phenomena."

Objectives and Activities of the District

The Rural District of Monte Pisano and the Piana di Pisa is inspired by the principles of sustainable development, with a strong commitment to the integration between economy and the environment. Some of the main objectives include:
